ACNH Seasonal Event Guide - Animal Crossing Shamrock Day Breakdown In New Horizons

3/18/2021 4:07:55 PM

Thanks to the latest 1.8 update that introduced the Super Mario crossover items, we can now celebrate Shamrock Day 2 on the New Horizons island. If you head to the resident services center and use the nook stop or access the nook shopping app on the nook phone, you can navigate to the seasonal events tab to check out the current seasonal holidays. Alongside the current Pie Day pie, you'll notice some new limited-time items for Shamrock Day are now available.

Shamrock Day is an event that's traditionally celebrated on March 17th and in line with the real world St Patrick's Day holiday. But like many other regional holidays and New Horizons is now celebrated worldwide and over several days. Beginning March 10th, which also happens to be Mario Day.

Some of the items available for Shamrock Day include the shamrock door plate, which is super cool because it says welcome in Irish, which is a great little detail, the shamrock rug, and the awesome shamrock soda. Unfortunately only one of these items is available to purchase on any given day though, so you'll have to check back each day if you're looking to purchase all three items before the event. Don't worry though, the items are available from March 10th through to Shamrock Day on March 17th, so there's plenty of time.

That's not all there is to this seasonal holiday, alongside these awesome shamrock items, some new limited-time shamrock clothing items are available too. If you head to the Able Sister’s during the shamrock event, you should be able to find some awesome-looking clothing items including the classic shamrock hat, the shamrock shoes, the super fun all-in-one shamrock suit, and finally the shamrock glasses, which are a must-have item. Just as you'd expect, all of these items will appear on various days for the duration of the shamrock event and are perfect for celebrating Shamrock Day in style.

If a bunch of shamrock items and shamrock clothing wasn't enough for you, the latest 1.8 update also introduced a brand new DIY recipe, especially for the event. Again available during the shamrock seasonal event, you'll be able to find a DIY recipe for the shamrock wand that features a very fitting clover design. The DIY recipe for this one can be found in the balloon presents that float across our islands. Once learned requires, only three clumps of weeds and three-star fragments to craft. Much like other seasonal recipes, it's a limited-time recipe, but shouldn't be too difficult to find if you haven't already.

Now that's pretty much all there is to these shamrock items, but it's worth mentioning that just like the other interactive items, the shamrock soda allows the player to do a little cheer when you're holding it. It's also worth mentioning that, unlike the fizzy apple juice or sparkle insider, the soda doesn't break when the player falls over and can be used an unlimited amount of times.

Although only a small season holiday in New Horizons, Shamrock Day is a holiday that's featured in past games 2 including New Leaf. It was celebrated a little bit different back then and only in western versions of the game. During the event, Isabel steps out of her office to host a small celebration at the plaza and awards the player with a shamrock hat. A special shamrock standee would also be placed on the plaza in celebration of the holiday. Another cool detail about the event is that a bunch of clovers would spring out of the ground. They could often be picked and worn by the player too. It's a shame clover haven't returned to New Horizons. Although the shamrock items have now been unlocked in New Horizons, it's unknown at this stage whether there will be any more to this event like valentine's day which gave us some surprises on the day, such as letters and gifts from villagers. Now that Nintendo time locks these events, it's difficult to know whether or not Isabel would announce the event in the morning or if villagers will acknowledge the event on the day. we'll have to wait and SEE!
