Path Of Exile Act 1 Leveling Guide - How To Unlock Act 2 In POE

Act 2 is an interesting act in Path of Exile. In that, it has a quest dealing with the bandits to which you align with one of the three bandits within the act or the quest giver error meter. Your choice in this quest will provide you with different character bonuses as well as a special variant of a boss fight, you will later encounter in Act 7. So you want to make sure you know which bandit you are going to be aligning with before moving all the way into Act 2.

Kaitlyn: 6% Attack And Cast Speed, 3% Chance To Dodge Attacks, 6% Movement Speed

Southern Forest

You begin act 2 in the southern forest, moving up through the forest performing a right-hand wall followed into the main acts town, the forest encampment.

 

The Old Field

Once in the forest encampment, exit to the old fields to the right. Follow the road all the way through the old fields all the way to the crossroads entrance. Once in the crossroads, go to the right along the road and tag the waypoint at the 4-way intersection. Move up the road through the cliffs to the chamber of sins level 1.

 

Chamber Of Sins - Level 1

The chamber of sins level 1 has a fairly static layout and it will always be a large square with four corners containing staircases. You will first want to go to the center of the zone to get the Waypoint by going left or right from the entrance around to the opening into the center of the room. Tag the Waypoint can go through the door in front of the Waypoint and continue straight to the next staircase down into the chamber of sanity level 2. The door in front of the Waypoint is always the correct direction to the next entrance.

 

Chamber Of Sins - Level 2

Once you're in the chamber of sin level 2, you will want to go up to the right of the zone. The second trial of sentence II is within the zone generally to the top left. If you are on your first character of the league, you may complete this now to avoid backtracking. Once you find the thin hallway going off straight to the right in the top right of the zone, follow it all the way to the end to encounter Fidelitas. Forest Encampment

If you need to kill Creighton take the waypoint back to the crossroads and go right to the broken bridge.

 

Broken Bridge

Once here, follow the road all the way right down to the large bridge and then kill Creighton for his amulet, a fragment of the apex.

 

The River Ways

Return to the sarn encampment by a portal or logout, you will not want to exit the forest encampment to the left and enter the Riverways. Like the old fields follow the road in the zone all the way left. Make use of your movement skill to cross the broken bridges. If your movements go cannot cross the gap because the gap is too large, move up or down along the river to find fallen logs to cross it. Make sure that you tagged the Waypoint along the road when you come across it. At the end of the road, you will encounter the western forests.

 

Western Forest

Follow the road to the left again, tag the Waypoint when you come across it. If you need to kill a lira, keep an eye out for a broken section of road on the same side as the Waypoint. Once you reach this broken road, follow it all the way to a liras hideout and kill her taking her amulet a fragment of the apex. Then move back to the road. Weaver’s Chambers

Once you enter the boss room, you will have to defeat the weaver. The Weaver can be a dangerous boss as it deals chaos damage and physical damage but spawns many small spiders that you can make use of for flasks or on kill charges. Forest Encampment

Speak with Silk to claim your level 18 support gem reward. Once you find out the initial direction and path that has spawned, you can easily then determine when you must zig and zag. Eventually, you will come across the ancient seal that you brake releasing darkness upon act 2 which you now have to lift. Continue past it to enter the northern forest.

 

Northern Forest

This zone is very linear and you just have to go to the top right of the zone to enter the caverns by simply following the shoreline. The waypoint for the zone is not required but can be found along the right side of the zone near the shoreline.

 

The Caverns

The caverns are linear, to begin with until you get to the Waypoint at the base of the ancient pyramid. Here begins the trek to the top of the pyramid to defeat the final boss act 2. You want to check the corners of the pyramid base to find the first set of stairs to the pyramid. They can occur in any corner resulting in a guessing game of where to look first.

 

Ancient Pyramid

Once you ascend a staircase, the next staircase will generally be diagonal from your location. As you go further up into the pyramid, the staircases will get closer until you finally reach the pyramid apex. This is where you must sock at the apex quest item into the dark altar to activate the vaal oversoul.

 

Vaal Oversoul

The vaal oversoul has a few dangerous moves such as ground slam that deals a large physical damage hit and should be avoided. A laser beam that deals with lightning damage and fires numerous times. It can be deadly to players with low lightning resistance. Other than this, the vaal oversoul will spread chilled ground, spawn ads and vanish underground. As the fight progresses, rocks will begin falling from the ceiling that can stun them deals physical damage. Once you have defeated vaal oversoul, you have completed act 2.
