tip 1. movement speed count a great deal

the first tip to level up in path of exile is to keep in mind that the movement speed is much important. when you start the game and enter the town, you can see if there are any poe boots have movement speed and pick up some movement speed boots as soon as you get the town. completing the tidal island quest will give you an option to choose a quicksilver flask, you want at least one quicksilver flask when you're leveling your character unless you're entirely relying on a movement skill such as leap slam, which until you get enough attack speed you can't move around as quickly as you want.

01

onslaught is a buff that grants 20% increased movement speed, attack speed, and cast speed. you can choose to link it to frost bomb and just leave it behind big packs, it will kill the most of them, if not, you can also put it in a +1 cold skill wand. another way to trigger onslaught is to put it on herald of lightning or herald of ice, it will increase the amount of mana that reserves by 10%, it really gives you a large boost, if you are playing a melee build and you want a little extra damage from herald of ice or something, you can link the onslaught to that, all of your shatters that kill nearby enemies might trigger onslaught, great way to get extra movement speed is king, another important point for movement is to make sure you're linking your movement skills.

tip 2. use single target skills for bosses

having a good single target to deal with bosses is a great way to level faster. if you want to play an ethereal knives character, that's great for clearing packs, just got buff damage, but its damage is not very high on bosses, for a single target, you may need blade vortex, there's a lot of different skills that don't provide the best single target damage, such as ice nova, does a good amount of area damage but not the greatest at killing bosses. if you are scaling damage through that and getting cast speed and spell damage, you might need a supplemental damage dealer. holy flame totem can be used as supplemental damage, kind of passive damage for a spellcaster, especially when you have the strength requirement. you can use the holy flame totem and link it up, it will increase your single target damage, if you want to use one of your other spells for clearing mostly as a trapper, the flamethrower trap can be considered.

to level with a tested leveling skill that require similar passive trees to your final build is more meaningful than trying to make your end-game build work from level 1, like winter orb, arc, fire trap, storm brand and more.

tip 3. learn zone layout

zone layouts are very important in path of exile, some of them are going to take a long time to learn and they shuffle around but some zones are very consistent, for example, the poe chamber of sins level 1, has a waypoint is always pointing the way down to the next zone. go the way and from there it will always bring you down to chamber of sins level 2. in the western forest, you can find spider webs down here and those will always lead towards the weaver's chambers on that side, you can also follow the road and you will eventually find a break in the road with a torch. once you have learned the zone layout especially in poe maps, you can find lots of different things that you want to look for and you'll level faster.

tip 4. do not overlevel

the next tip is not to overlevel, you don't have to kill every single thing, you just need to kill enough packs to keep your charges on your quicksilver flask and make sure you are moving on, so we get the onslaught going, the blue packs give four times as much experience as normal bombs, and rare ones give seven times as much experience the yellow monsters, but they are surrounded by normal monsters and generally they won't give you as much value as a decent-sized blue pack in the end.

tip 5. do not hoard/stack poe items

the last tip is not to keep a large number of path of exile items, you don't need most of the items and don't need to identify every little thing, you can easily trade transmutes and scraps for a common poe currency scroll of wisdom, you need a certain amount of that in the beginning as they are valuable, while you don't need to pick up every single item. a good poe 3.6 loot filter is recommended, neversink's loot filter is a popular filter, which will let you know whether a unique or something valuable item has dropped, with a sound and an image on the mini-map.
