1. Kokiri Island (Dream Address: DA-6496-0582-1664)

Here we will take a tour to the island that will particularly appeal to those who have a passion for Japanese culture: Kokiri, Angela’s island, was in fact created taking inspiration from traditional Japanese suburban villages.

Creative Layout & Magnificent Natural Landscape

The conformation of Kokiri is composed of a mouth to the south and one to the west, with the secret beach located in the upper right corner of the map. The sun is setting, the streets are deserted and the trees are all colored pink. We are in spring, in April to be precise.

What struck us first of all about Kokiri is how, despite it having the standard size of every in-game island, the author managed to make it look smaller, exactly as if it were a real Japanese village. To do this she used a lot of water: almost half of the island is covered with it.

By digging a huge lake beyond which various dollhouses, trees and windmills have been positioned, Angela has managed to deceive the perspective, creating a truly breathtaking landscape: it almost seems in fact that the elements we see from a distance are really far away.

We can admire the view from different points of the island, which were created precisely for this. In the following image we can also see how the author used some white swings whose upper ends act as fences.

Japanese Themed Cherry Blossom Streets

Each broadleaf tree present in Kokiri is in the flowering phase and the warm light diffused by the setting sun colors the atmosphere with a shade that is also pink, like the Animal Crossing trees. Very little vegetation is green: the ground is almost totally covered with concrete roads and pavements, complete with pedestrian crossings. Current poles and lampposts contribute to the decoration of these avenues.

To interrupt one of these roads we find a truly realistic level crossing: in addition to using appropriate patterns, trees and tactically positioned current poles, the author had the brilliant idea of using two jump poles as bars that normally are closed to warn of a passing train. In addition to the composition, use was made of stalls and bunk beds hidden by partitions, to recreate small buildings also with typical Japanese architecture.

Japanese Urban Style Buildings

Another area as detailed as it is important to mention is the school. In Japan, in particular, it constitutes a fundamental element in the life of young people. Angela wanted to bring this cultural aspect to her island, giving us the opportunity to visit a classroom with its related dressing room. The details are very accurate: there are books and papers everywhere, the lunch bag on a counter, shoes placed on a locker. It seems that a group of children occupied the cockpit until a few moments before.

The exterior of the building is equally well done. White bookcases turned from behind (so as not to see the books) were used, and in front of these were placed partitions portraying the design of some windows. This composition leads us to believe that we are actually in front of a real school.

Other Notable Areas On The Kokiri Japanese Island

As we have already said, the portion of the ground covered with models is very large, precisely to best convey the atmosphere and mood typical of a Japanese suburban town. Many of the patterns used for the terrain are by the author. The Custom Design Code is: MA-8487-7162-5869.
