With the end of April, let’s embrace the Animal Crossing New Horizons update of May. Have you noticed the changes around our island through the month? Some of the changes are minor adjustments for example seasonal recipes, items, island aesthetic, environmental, season events, and more features with the Animal Crossing 1.10 update. ACNH May Update & Changes - Crafting Material, Event, Critters And More In Animal Crossing 1.10 Updates 2021

May is a busy month for some new players, next, we are going to show you every change and update in Animal Crossing New Horizons.


ACNH May Update - Seasonal Crafting Material

Starting with the obvious, even though may is a brand new season in Animal Crossing New Horizons, some players do see a shift in seasonal crafting materials that spawn around the island. In the northern hemisphere will be no significant changes in the island, with young spring bamboo sting spawning for another month. These materials can be used to craft young spring bamboo. You can find young spring bamboo recipes, basket packs, pan flute,s and bamboo wands in balloons.


In the southern hemisphere, not only they can still find acorns and pine cones, but also there are several new seasonal crafting materials mushroom and maple leaves that begin to spawn after the ACNH updates in May 2021. Mushroom will spawn early from the beginning of May through the entire month, which includes elegant mushrooms, flat mushrooms, round mushrooms, skinny mushrooms and rare mushrooms. All of these materials can be used to craft mushroom partitions and mush parasols. Maple leaves will begin to spawn from May 16 through to May 25, which can be found randomly floating around the island. These can also be used to craft seasonal recipes for tree's bounty arch and maple leave pond stone that can be found in ballons.


ACNH May Update - Seasonal Events

Thanks to the Animal Crossing New Horizons 1.10 update that introduces refresh events and changes. Both hemispheres have 2 new seasonal holidays in ACNH May 2021 update that you can look forward to, along with some exclusive limited-time items to celebrate the May events.

  • Children’s Day - April 28 to May 5

    Children’s Day is a brand new event in May Animal Crossing New Horizons 2021. During this holiday, both the Cart banner and the Newsprint helmet can be purchased.

  • Mother’s Day - May 1 to May 31

    Mother’s Day is a returning event from last year but has refreshed slightly. During this holiday May update of Animal Crossing, you can buy thank you mum mug and carnations from nook shop.

  • Cheese Rolling Day - May 22 to May 31

    Cheese rolling day is a brand new Animal Crossing event in May, which brings the double Gloucester cheese wheel item



ACNH May Update - Weather

Moving into a relatively small change, players in all regions will see a slight shift in weather and weather phenomena being changed during the month of May. On the one hand, for players in the northern hemisphere, May is the final month of spring, therefore, is the last chance to see think clouds in the sky. On the other hand, in the southern hemisphere, May is a shifting season with the end of fall and the start of winter in the final week of the month. This means the rainbows can be seen for 45 minutes during the day, following heavy rainfall comes to at the end. Furthermore, the cirrus and Cirrocumulus clouds can no longer be seen anymore.


ACNH May Update - Island Aesthetics

We can expect some changes in island aesthetics and environments every month in Animal Crossing New Horizon. As we mentioned before, we can see the floating maple leaves and clouds, what’s more, some bushes are starting to bloom in ACNH May Season. In the northern hemisphere, pink and white azalea bushes will continue to bloom until the end of May. However, Orange and yellow tea-olive bushes start flowering in the southern hemisphere in favor of hibiscus bush blooming the entire winter. Furthermore, certain decorations in the nook’s cranny will change too, as winter starts in the southern hemisphere before the end of May.


ACNH May Update - Holiday Events

There are many exciting holiday events you can take part in during the 1.10 May update of Animal Crossing. From April 29 through to May 7, it’s possible to take participate in the second May Day island tour. During the event, you can head to Dodo airlines to get the mayday ticket and travel the island the join in the maze activity. ACNH May Update  - Critters

In the northern hemisphere, there are 21 critters such as scorpion, mahi-mahi, and giant clam that we can catch in Animal Crossing New Horizons in May updates ACNH 2021. In the southern hemisphere, we will be able to catch 13 critters such as mole cricket, blue marlin and snow crab.
