Best Path of Exile 3.8 Witch Starter Builds

PoE 3.8 Ultimate SRS Minion Instability Build

This CI build consist of 8 link and we are using it on a helmet with a 30% more elemental damage. As for what gem are they. The lightning/cold damage that we cast will trigger Elemental Equilbrium. Thus, we are able to deal 50% more fire damage to the mobs after they have been struck by the lightning. Our Flame Golem meanwhile, were used to apply combustion effect, which causes the mobs to take 20% more fire damage. As result, we have 70% fire penetration.

PROs & CONs

+ 8M damage on The Shaper

+ Mass AOE

+ Aggressive playstyle

+ 13k+ ES

+ Chaos immune 100%

+ Hindered immune 100%

Best PoE 3.8 Spider Bros Fang Necromancer Build

With this build, you can reach level 100 easily and fast, and kill everything in 5ex. We now get more multipliers for our minion damage which is insanely powerful. In addition we get 10% less dmg received as well as additional ES from spirit offering. We also get increased duration (previously 50% up to 60%). Literally no downside.

PROs & CONs

Pros

+ Very High DPS without needing 6-Link

+ Easy to play

+ Great Clear Speed

+ Relatively cheap for its performance

+ Can do any combination of map mods

Cons

Best Path of Exile 3.8 Marauder Starter Builds

PoE 3.8 Ice Crash Berserker Build

Thanks for the Pulverize nerfed by GGG, Ice Crash is not that huge anymore. Joke aside, the AoE probably is still good, but just not that big as before. And Double Damage chance has been moved & added to War Bringer ascendancy node. This could potentially makes this build more tanker and having better survivability choice over the Aspect of Carnage. This build works on budget and gets better when more investment is thrown at it. Most end game contents are done with 10c foils (this is the price in the middle of the league period) and a 6-link with some good enough gears.

PROs & CONs

Pros

+ Single target DPS is awesome

+ Clear speed is decent enough

+ Sound effect is satifying

+ Everything freeze except endgame bosses

Cons

- Can't see shit

- Squishy against Legion rares

- Only 6k-ish of life

- Reflect & No leech map mods must be skipped

PoE 3.8 Crit Shockwave Staff Cyclone Berserker Build

Relatively budget build to start (SSF viable). Uber Elder is relatively cheap. Super Flexible Build: good clear with solid bossing. Able to scale to crazy levels with proper investment. Any map mods (as long as both reflects are not together, any mod is doable with proper swaps). This new Shockwave Support gem is a core mechanic of the build, which that triggers when you hit a monster every 0.71 seconds (gains cool down reduction with level). Shockwave benefits from the support gems linked to the trigger skill (i.e. Cyclone). Therefore, we maximize the benefit of shockwave by only linking gems that work with both cyclone and shockwave. This means that shockwave benefits off the increased + more AOE from support gems + skill tree. It provides amazing clear by extending the effective aoe of your attacks as well as providing burst damage.

PROs & CONs

Pros

+ Able to 5 Emblem Carry with full 6-man Party (w/ proper pepega gear).

+ Smooth Mapping with satifying boombooms from shockwave and speed from cyclone w/ big boi AOE.

+ Strong Boss Killer: Uber Elder, Uber Atziri, Aul, etc. with vaal double strike + impale.

+ Fast and fun Delving (still testing 500+ depth).

+ Any map (including Hall of Grandmasters).

+ Any map mod: Physical Reflect - swap in Hrimsorrow/burn + Physical to Lightning Support. Elemental Reflect - swap in Brutality Support. Both Reflect - Cry.

+ Shockwave can bypass proximity shield (since the origin of the shockwave is from the monster).

+ Great sustain with multiple sources: regen, leech, high effectiveness blood of karui (up to 3k/s), warcry with warbringer (25%/1.74s).

+ Layered defenses with atk block, spell block, fortify, 5 endurance charges, armor, evasion, immortal call.

+ 0 mana cost for skills so you can 100% reserve your mana. also don’t have to worry about no regen.

Cons

- Complex character with a lot of mechanics that work together. Not having proper links, mechanics active will be a big hindrance.

- Need to swap a lot of gear for different types of content (for reflect, etc).

- The super pepega version can be quite expensive to min max (as it usually is with most builds).

Very socket intensive (ideally able to do with 2 unset rings).

Best Path of Exile 3.8 Shadow Starter Builds

PoE 3.8 Blade Flurry Poison Assassin Beginner Build

Blight adds a new poison themed Support Gem and a suite of five potent new poison-themed Skill Gems. Fast, deadly, some AoE, increasing dmg while channelling. And the green wave when you release at max stage. So amazing. Kill every nearby mobs.

PROs & CONs

Pros

+ Fast, versatile and fun build

+ Beginner friendly | Can be done on a budget

+ Boss killer

+ All contents viable

Cons

- Cannot do phys reflect maps

- Clearspeed is nice but not super-fast. We are no Winter-Orb MF farmer.

- Quite Expensive for endgame (25ex and more)

goldkk

- Quite glass-cannon

- Struggles in Delve 300+

PoE 3.8 Cold Explosive Ice Trap Saboteur Build

Trapper is getting some nerfs in 3.8. First nerf is the "Pyromaniac" ascendancy node which regen rate being cut into half, only up to maximum of 10% now. Second nerf is the "1 Additional Trap" modifier on Shaped Gloves has been removed in 3.8, the overall DPS loss is pretty huge imo (about 1/3, roughly) since now it takes more time or more trap throwing speed to reach the same number of traps being thrown within a duration. However, the "Trap Throwing Speed" modifier on Shaped Gloves is buffed to compensate the DPS loss slightly.

PROS AND CONS

Pros

+ Good burst damage and single target DPS.

+ 6k+ Life and good life regeneration rate.

+ Can run all map mods.

+ SSF Viable.

+ Not relying on any unique gear or enchant, which is quite budget I think?

Cons

- Clear speed is mediocore.

- Optimal DPS setup can be clunky for players who prefer less buttons to press.

- No Regen map mod is a bit tricky but can be done by not reserving any mana and bring a mana flask.

- Effective HP (eHP) won't be as high as most Mind Over Matter (MoM) Trapper builds.

Best Path of Exile 3.8 Duelist Starter Builds

PoE 3.8 Gladiator vs Champion Build

This is a all content viable, league starter budget build! The main statistics of this build is Evasion, which we use both as a defense and as an offensive stat, thanks to the use of Dreamfeather Sword. Additionally, thanks to Perfect Form and Cold Resist stacking, we are able to pull out 50,000+ Evasion in HO and a lot come when Increased from the talent tree works in fight. Originally, the build was made as Bleed Gladiator. After doing all the content I tried Champion and it turns out that Champion works perfectly with this build, which is pretty obvious because his tree is based on Evasion.

PROS AND CONS

Pros

- Can do all content.

- Budget for start.

- Good survivability (Alot of Evasion/nice armor/a lot of damage reduction)

- Solid clearspeed

- Based on interesting and unusual mechanics

- Great Lab Farmer

- Amazing feeling and the pleasure of playing

- Possibility to choose a skill we like, build works with virtually any physical melee that can be used with a sword.

Cons

- Hard to Check real DPS (Impale or Bleed, don't work well in PoB)

- This is not a facetank, we have to be careful about the toughest contents.

- Reading the guide is very important. Itemes must be very carefully and carefully selected. It's easy to make the build work poorly when you pick items wrong.

-A lot of possibilities, it's hard sometimes to decide where to go.

PoE 3.8 Pure Phys Crit-Cyclone Build

This is a all content viable build! Simple, spin to win and shock everything! The most important interaction is of course criting while wielding a Starforge. Every time you crit you shock. Noting that the more HP the enemy has the less effective it is, but since you perform A LOT of attacks per second with around 50% crit chance it ends up being fairly consistent. Since we're purely physical the slayer ascendancy allows 100% physical reflect immunity. With that we're able to do most map mods without having to worry about any form of reflect. The other notable difference from other builds is the use of Impresence where our Vulnerability + Blasphemy setup becomes free.

PROs & CONs

Pros

+ works on a budget

+ boss killer

+ can do all map mods except "cannot leech" which is extremely rare

+ good sustain (leech)

+ tanky (7.5k+ effective life, Fortify + Soul of Steel)

+ SSF viable-ish (farm Shaper and Elder for Starforge/Impresence)

+ pretty sure it's HC viable

+ 1.2mil+ DPS (new!)

Cons

- maxing out somewhat expensive (*cough*Starforge*Cough*)

- totem is a bit squishy and clunky

Best Path of Exile 3.8 Ranger Starter Build

PoE 3.8 Ultimate Ele Buzzsaw Raider Build

This is a nice starter build for rangers to easily clear all content (maps/shaper/lab/atziri + ubers etc). It is fun and engaing, not cost an extraordinary amount of currency, and have the ability to be a league starter with the ability to do all content later on as you upgrade and invest into your character. Spectral throw received minor buffs to damage. Also passives changed just a bit. Ele damage rolls on weapons can be higher now but much harder to get the top tier rolls. That being said abyss jewels flat damage and life were both nerfed so mostly build will feel the same. In PoE 3.8, so far we know we are going to get some buffs to some raider ascendancy nodes but that is about it.

PROs & CONs

Pros

+ Very fast pace build

+ Incredible movement speed with whirling blades

+ One of the best AOE clears in the game hands down

+ Amazing Single Target capabilities as well

+ Vaal Haste + Vaal Grace take it yet another step further

+ Free frenzy charge generation via ascendancy class

+ Vaal pact + insane damage gives ridiculous amounts of leech

+ Can do almost all map mods (avoid no leech, ele reflect)

+ Able to do all content (all maps, uber atziri, all labs, shaper and guardians, uber elder)

+ Nice defensive capabilities

+ Easy/Cheap to gear with room for lots of improvements as you get more currency

Cons

- Ele Reflect maps are NOT possible

- Can not leech maps are NOT possible

- Can be decently expensive to fully min/max yourself for end game gear

PoE 3.8 Fivers Frostblades Raider Build

This build is a Claw & Shield based Frost Blades build. It utilizes a fast clear speed, high mobility, high evasion, and high damage to clear all the available content. This isn't a tanky afk build. It requires a certain amount of skill in order to clear the hardest content.

PROs & CONs

Pros

+ Fast clear speed

+ Very good dps

+ Can do all content (Uber Elder, Uber Izaro, Shaper, Elder, Vaal Temple, Chayula)

+ Really fun and intensive playstyle

Cons

- Can’t do elemental reflect maps

- Not very tanky (can facetank a lot of stuff but don’t let your guard down)

- Expensive to min/max

Best Path of Exile 3.8 Templar Starter Builds

PoE 3.8 Storm Brand Inquisitor Build

This is a beginner-friendly, league-starter viable, solo-self-found viable, and comprehensive Storm Brand Inquisitor guide. The leveling section in this guide is meant to take players with a fresh install or in a fresh league and get them into maps and started on a powerful character. Interested readers can find gear priority, stat suggestions, mechanics explanations, and a whole bunch of links that might be useful for newer players.

PROs & CONs

Pros:

+ Beginner and League Starter Friendly. Virtually no gear requirements. Can be done on all rares. 4-link is enough to complete the story and progress into maps. Like all spells, the power comes from the level of the skill gem so progression feels smooth.

+ Brand Playstyle. Cast from range and stay out of danger. Place your brands and watch them pulse and kill enemies while you run around and pick up loot or plan your next move.

+ Mind over Matter. Acrobatics/Phase Acrobatics. MoM is one of the best defensive Keystones in the game. Acro/Phase Acro are great "free lives" while learning the game and helps for times where you just can't move away from damage.

+ Gearing is straightforward. Being Inquisitor makes the range of stats you care about even less. No need to care about the resist of your enemies means all you care about is life, resistances, mana, and crit.

+ Not that many buttons to press. I list this here as a pro because I can't be bothered to keep up multiple buffs, curses, golems, and whatnot. This guide is supposed to be new player friendly. You have your Brand, Brand Recall, and a couple mobility skills. That's it. For newer players this really helps manage flask usage.

Cons:

- Can't do Elemental Reflect. Even with pantheons or anti-reflect rings you will do too much damage and one-shot yourself to elemental reflect. Look out for this mod when doing maps. Reroll maps with reflect and don't choose maps with reflect if Zana presents you with an option (be careful for unid maps!)
